Prom is a fun time for high schoolers to celebrate their work throughout the school year and is often looked back on fondly for years to come for many adults. The Outreach Center seeks to serve those teens who are less likely to attend due to the high costs of attire and fees. The Outreach Center is excited to partner with WJCC Schools, the PTSAs, and James City County Parks and Recreation to make this years’ boutique a big success, along with community partners from Lambda Lambda Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

Donations of formal attire, shoes, and accessories are accepted at the Outreach Center throughout March until April 5. The Outreach Center is also accepting monetary donations to help students purchase prom tickets through April 30. To donate toward the costs, click groveoutreach.networkforgood.com/

The Prom Boutique will be held on April 16-18 at Legacy Hall in New Town and will be open to students at WJCC High Schools. More information for students will be made available through the schools soon including how to make an appointment.

The Center is also looking for business partners interested in donating volunteer hours or funding to help make this a special event to remember. “Personal stylists” are needed to help the teens pick out clothing, accessories or give hair and makeup tips as students come for their stylist appointments for young women and men.
