Growing Hope,
Nourishing Neighbors
The Rob Till Community Garden is Grove Christian Outreach Center’s newest program, designed to bring fresh, healthy food directly to our neighbors while fostering education, sustainability, and community connection.
Located at James River Elementary School, it will help serve community members of all ages. This garden will serve as a living classroom for students and volunteers, teaching the value of nutrition, gardening, and caring for creation. Every seed planted represents more than just produce — it represents hope, resilience, and the power of community.
Fresh fruits and vegetables harvested from the garden will directly support The Gathering Place, Williamsburg’s first free food market, ensuring families in greater Williamsburg have access to nutritious food choices. The garden also supports the Food Is Medicine initiative, helping reduce food insecurity while encouraging healthier lifestyles.

Why a Community Garden?
- Provides sustainable access to fresh produce for families in need
- Educates children and volunteers through hands-on gardening experiences
- Builds stronger partnerships between schools, families, and the community
- Honors the legacy of service and compassion embodied by Rob Till
